New floor completes our Indoor Training facility Print

Over the summer holidays a purpose made sports floor has been laid in the training hall. The floor is specially designed for sports such as football and means Queensbury Celtic now owns, perhaps, the best indoor training facilities for a junior football club across West Yorkshire. This has been a major investment by the club to ensure the safety and enjoyment of those using the hall. However we are also grateful to Gerflor, the international sports floor manufacturers, and to Recreational Coatings, the floor layers, who have ‘gone the extra mile’ in ensuring we have a new surface of the very highest quality that is guaranteed to last for many years.

QC awarded 'FA Community Club' status Print

Queensbury Celtic FC has recently achieved the Football Association’s highest quality award by gaining the prestigious Community Club status.

According to the FA this award represents the ‘pinnacle of the club development pathway’ and ‘is one of the truest measures of success for the FA Football Development strategy’.  Only a small proportion of club’s have so far achieved this excellent standard of provision.

To qualify for the Community Club award QC had to meet a long list of strict criteria, demonstrating a high quality, multi-team (minimum of 10 teams) set up with excellent social, training and playing opportunities for all.

A special plaque will be presented to the club as a mark of our achievement. This will be unveiled at the special celebration event to be held at Pit Lane at 2pm on Saturday 11th September. All players and parents, past and present are warmly invited to attend.

A special thanks must go to the our Football Development Officers, Richard Swallow and Marshall Sharp along with other members of the Football Development Committee for their unstinting commitment in demonstrating to the FA  that Queensbury Celtic offers such a high standard of provision for young footballers.

U8's win at Shipley .....Again!! Print

The Under 8's take the Shipley Tournament by storm........Again!!!

Congratulations to the under 8 squad who entered 2 teams into the 2010 Shipley Tournament for the 2nd year running.  BOTH team won their effect groups and put on outstanding displays. 

Again, this was a true squad effort as there were more tactical team changes, so credit to the kids for doing a job that may have felt somewhat alien to them. Lets hope this dominance at the Shipley tournament continues for many a year!!!
